Unumstritten ist der Bozner Blumenmarkt einer der Höhepunkte des Bozner Frühlings, und das bereits seit 128 Jahren. Dabei verwandelt sich der Waltherplatz im Herzen der Altstadt zwei Tage lang in ein Gartenparadies, ein Spektakel von Farben und Düften – heuer am Wochenende vom 30. April-1. Mai. Den Auftakt dazu bilden die Geranientage.
Der Bozner Blumenmarkt
Zum Anlass gestalten die Südtiroler Gärtner das Herz der Stadt als Gartenlandschaft, verkaufen ihre neuesten grünen Kreationen und stehen Besucherinnen und Gästen mit Geheimtipps zum Gartenbau zur Seite. Ob Gemüsesetzlinge, Blumen oder Grünpflanzen für Garten, Balkon und Terrasse – der Blumenmarkt gilt als Ideenschmiede für Hobbygärtner und bringt Schwung ins neue Gartenjahr. Grüne Daumen kommen auch in den Genuss der „Geranientage“: Kunden, die am 29. und 30. April einen Einkauf in den teilnehmenden Geschäften tätigen, erhalten als Dankeschön eine Geranie.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen neben den Pflanzen auch Musik, Kulinarik und heuer neu: Mozart. Am 1. Mai wird nämlich im Rahmen des Internationalen Mozart-Festivals der südlichen Nachbarstadt Rovereto ein Wander-Flashmob organisiert. Unter dem Motto „Die Räume von Mozart“ wird der Waltherplatz von 14.30 bis 16 Uhr zum Schauplatz theatralischer Einlagen für Auge, Ohr und Herz.
Eine Reihe von heimischen Musikkapellen und Bläsern aus den Nachbarregionen konzertieren auf den Stadtplätzen und auf Schloss Maretsch, während lokale Handwerker altes wie neues Handwerk vorführen. Traditionen werden in Südtirol gepflegt und gern auch zur Schau gestellt. Restaurants, Buschenschänke und Gaststätten der Umgebung bieten Themenwochen an, in der Stadt werden Frühlingsgerichte aus der typischen Südtiroler Küche serviert und Saisonsprodukte zur Verkostung angeboten.
